Stu Soboleski

Growing up in the suburbs of Connecticut, Stuart spent his free time in the woods and creeks, building forts and dams to catch frogs, and fishing and hunting. However, a life twist came along during his walk across Switzerland in his early 20’s as he visited a tiny village high up in the Swiss alps. He got his first taste of agriculture, making hay by hand, milking goats and cows, immersed in a completely different life that became a calling to learn and work with our non-human kin.

Stuart went on to live in Vermont for 15 years, picking up life experience in agriculture, carpentry, traditional skills, and learning and unlearning on how to be a better human.

Stuart now lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is an educator and is developing and managing an agriculture, landscape and ecology program at Albuquerque Sign Language Academy. He also co-manages a seed farm with his partner, Tiana. He is thrilled to be on the board with such a talented team of committed visionaries who want to create opportunities for the Deaf and signing community to learn, work, and play together on the land!
